[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter the great success of the 1st Cologne Compliance Panels, the second Cologne Compliance Panels took place on the 29th of September 2014. Again, the main focus of the event was on small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and their specific needs. Topics were i.a. modern compliance management systems and security compliance in the SMEs sector. In addition, an update on the risks of the SMEs sector’s specific risks and their effective management was given to the participants. Renowned speakers from practice enriched the visitors with valuable experience and actionable instructions.
The conference was divided into three panels. The first panel was dedicated to the following topics: conflict management systems for SMEs, benefits and applicability of the standard ISO 19600, and finally the audit of third parties.
The second panel was devoted to the issues: consideration of CMS in the procurement procedures, the executive board and supervisory board liability for compliance defects and global prevention of corruption.
The third panel was referring to the Security Compliance, IT Security & Information Security Management System (ISMS certification) and on the liability of the board members for shortcomings in the IT infrastructure.
