[dropcap]F[/dropcap]rom personal liability to compliance within the company, this was the title of the conference held on 4.11.2010 in Warsaw. The lectures have been held in the special neoclassical ambience of the Tyszkiewicz-Potocki Palace. The conference was organized by the Chair of Polish Public Law at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University, the PolishGerman Chamber of Commerce and the German-Polish Lawyers Association (DPJV). Among the 150 participants were interested scientists, students and lawyers who deal professionally with corporate law. Before the event has been inaugurated by the Minister of Justice of Poland, Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, all participants were welcomed by Dr. Jan Schürmann, member of the board of DPJV, Prof. Dr. Tomasz Giaro, Vice Dean for International Cooperation of the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University and Prof. Dr. Bartosz Makowicz of the Viadrina University. The conference was divided into two sections. The first section was dedicated to the personal liability in company law. The second part of the conference was devoted to the issue of compliance. Compliance is understood in the broadest sense as activities performed by a company in accordance with the law.
