Horst Seehofer

The FORSI Security Days are coming of age - congratulations! 18 years of FORSI Security Days - this is 18 years of effort to more security in our country.

Security is the basis of our coexistence - at the same time security is a business. But that is not a contradiction.

If security is important in the private sector, then it also has an indirect or direct added value for us all. The protection of private events for example objectively increases security and simultaneously the sense of security of the citizens. Or as another example the research and development of the private sector, which lead to sophisticated security systems. These systems are also a benefit for security institutions. Both examples show that the private security industry makes a significant contribution to security in Germany.

What began 18 years ago as the FORSI Security Days is now presented in a new form: a new name, an English-speaking panel, focusing on new risks that also mean new tasks for the security industry. Big Data, digitalization for the security industry, cyber security - a lot of material for two days. I wish you a successful conference, good discussions and many future-oriented answers.

Conception

The FORSI Security Business Days will be 18 years old! On this anniversary of the age of majority, not only the concept receives a makeover, but also the event name itself: We are proud to present the 18th edition of the FORSI Security Days this year. Traditionally, they continue to be an integral part of the Department of Research for Security Industry and Corporate Security (FORSI), which is based at the European University Viadrina since January 2015 as part of the Viadrina Compliance Center (VCC) and continues to focus on its research areas of enterprise security and security. The conference series serves as a forum for discussion on current security issues and addresses to representatives of politics, state and local government, private security executives, associations, police representatives, consultants and scientists. In this way, an interdisciplinary platform will be created that will enable a cross-thematic debate on current priorities of civil security.

Implementation

The 18th FORSI Security Days will be dedicated to a total of four topics around current security developments: The first panel will deal with the topic "New risks = new tasks for the security industry", followed by the panel entitled "The security company of the future: Quality and Reliability". The third panel will open the second day of the event with the theme "Big Data, Digitization and Cyber Security" and will followed by the first-time English speaking panel entitled "Privatization of Security Services". The panels will be moderated by experts from science and experienced practitioners in the relevant field..

Objectives

The conference aims to shed light on the current issues of corporate security and the private security industry. Existing solutions should be presented and new approaches should be fostered by a fruitful discussion..
